The private firm, a major supplier of gas in the two of the biggest Gujarat cities, slashed the prices under the new guidelines issued by the Centre.
The revised prices, effective from midnight tonight, comes as a major relief for over 1.5 lakh CNG vehicle users and 1.9 lakh households using PNG in these cities.
"In view of the additional allocation of gas, price of CNG in Ahmedabad and Vadodara is being revised downward from Rs 58.75 per kg to Rs 46.75 per Kg," an Adani Gas release said here.
"This move came after Government of India on February 3 revised guidelines for allocation of domestic gas to City Gas Distribution (CGD) entities for CNG (transport) and PNG (domestic)," the release said.
Earlier on December 26, Adani Gas had reduced the prices of CNG by Rs 10 kg and PNG by Rs 8 per SCM after the Gujarat High Court asked the Centre to provide gas to CGD entities under Administered Price Mechanism (APM) in line with Delhi and Mumbai.
