ADDCL asked not to resort to power cuts

Kamrup Metro District Electric Committee has asked the public sector power company APDCL not to resort to power cuts randomly but depending upon the situation in a vulnerable place during flooding in the capital city Guwahati.
Regarding public complaint no random power cut to be done during flooding in Guwahati, the District Electric Committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Kamrup Metro gave the direction to the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL).
Depending upon the situation if the area is vulnerable than power cut may be done immediately, the Electric Committee added.
Following the death of three persons in the city recently due to flood induced electrocution, the Committee also directed the APDCL to protect and erect fencing around power transformers in low lying areas.
