"It has been decided to tighten security arrangements of all railway tracks and other vital installations by deployment of additional forces, round-the clock patrolling and thorough checking," sources said.
This was decided at a meeting held today here to review security arrangements of such installations. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of state principal secretary (Home and Political Department) Shailesh.
The meeting discussed about security arrangements of oil pipelines, refineries, railway lines, railway properties and trains and other vulnerable pockets, official sources said.
In the last fortnight, ULFA exploded grenades in Guwahati, Bongaigaon and Doomdooma.
According to senior officials, the militant groups are looking for a chance to hit targets of economic value to increase pressure and create fear.
