Union Minister Mahesh Sharma today urged the Uttar Pradesh government to take an "immediate call" to address the residents' complaints against realty firm Amrapali's housing project on the outskirts of national capital.
"The Uttar Pradesh government should take immediate call (on the complaints). It should convene a meeting of all stakeholders and find solutions to the problems," Sharma, who represents Gautam Budh Nagar Parliamentary constituency, told reporters here.
Sharma's remarks came in the wake of some residents of Amrapali's Saphhire project in Noida taking to the social media to register their protest against the non-completion of civil and electrical work in many towers.
The complaints had gone viral on Twitter after they tagged cricketer M S Dhoni in their tweets asking the player to disassociate himself from the builder or force the company to ensure completion of pending work.
Dhoni later resigned as brand ambassador of the firm following the outcry.
Sharma said investors in the project are mainly from middle-income group who have to pay rent as well as repay loan installments to banks and their problems should be addressed soon.
