ADGP reviews 35 kg gold seizure case

The about 35 kg of gold valued at about Rs 10.5 crore was smuggled into the country by two fishermen for a fee of Rs 50,000, according to Marine Polie.
Initial investigation revealed that the gold had been sent by Saddique of Mannar District in Sri lanka for one Mohideen of Madurai, police said.
Coastal Marine Police ADGP Shylendra Babu today visited the island and reviewed the case with local police officials.
Police had already arrested the two fishermen who smuggled the gold biscuits.
The ADGP said Coastal Marine Police would intensify patrolling operation in Nagapattina,and Mandapam areas to prevent smuggling.
