ADGP-Security reviews arrangements at Jammu airport

In order to ensure adequate security at Jammu airport, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Security, V K Singh, today reviewed arrangements made at the facility and asked officers to be more vigilant.
Singh urged jawans and officers to work strictly according to norms laid down by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and directed the staff on frisking duty to remain vigilant keeping in view the present security scenario, an official spokesman said here today.
The senior officer also heard grievances of officers and officials working at the airport and issued instructions for their immediate redressal.
Earlier, SP Airport, Ashok Kumar Sharma briefed the ADGP on security arrangements and deployment of personnel at the airport and also about arrangements made for arrival and departure of Amarnath Yatris, the spokesman said.
The ADGP, meanwhile, also reviewed security preparations for Amarnath Yatra, visited the Yatra Base Camp at Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of security arrangements, he said.
He inspected arrangements at the base camp and chaired a review meeting with senior officers of security agencies, including police, security forces and other departments, the spokesman informed.
The ADGP asked officers to maintain close coordination and remain extra vigilant to ensure a smooth and successful Yatra.
During the visit, Singh also interacted with pilgrims and enquired about their difficulties. He advised them on the need for proper registration before proceeding further, the spokesman added.
