Adilabad sizzles at 45 degrees; rains in parts of Telangana

Adilabad in Telangana today sizzled at 45 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature in the state, followed by Ramagundam at 44.4 degrees Celsius.
However, the maximum temperatures fell appreciably at one or two places though they were above normal at a few places in the state, the IMD said in its daily weather report on Telangana.
Rain occurred at a few places over Telangana with Khammam Urban receiving 9 cms, followed by Sathupalli (in Khammam district) which got 8 cms of rainfall.
The lower pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal now lies as a well marked low pressure area over East Central and other parts of Bay of Bengal, the IMD said.
The IMD warned that thunderstorms, accompanied by squall or gusty winds, are likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana.
It forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorms at isolated places over Telangana.
The maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2-3 degrees Celsius at a few places over Telangana, the weather department added.
