Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said today that it was a matter of concern that the drop out rate in government schools was rising when the number of students joining private schools was going up.
Adityanath also said referred to his government's move towards adopting NCERT books and said the move would help students of the state to prepare better for national level competitions.
"It is a matter of concern that the drop out rate in government schools is going up when the number of students in private schools is rising," he said during a discussion with the Union HRD ministry officials on the road map for transforming school education in UP.
Instructing the officials to make efforts for providing better facilities and education to the future generation, Adityanath advocated the use of new techniques for bringing an improvement in the education system.
Stressing on use of technology in plugging corruption, he said that it has been found that there were very few students in some government schools in the urban areas. Such schools could be closed down after adjusting their students in nearby schools, he suggested.
He also said that students of the state could be better prepared to face national level competitions by adopting NCERT books in the syllabus.
