An adivasi woman today complained that unknown persons attempted to rape her at her home at Dangapara near the town here.
In her complaint to the Burdwan police, she said that she was cooking at her home at Ryan gram panchayat when four anti-social elements barged in during a power cut yesterday.
They forcibly took her to the adjoining cowshed and attempted to rape her when she managed to run away, she stated in her complaint.
The woman, a former CPI-M member, along with her husband today went to the Burdwan police and lodged a complaint.
In the complaint, she stated that she suspected involvement of persons associated with the Trinamool Congress.
