It took a heart attack at the age of forty-five to teach Shailendra Singh to live life to its fullest and enjoy every moment, experiences that the sports marketing guru, advertising whizz and Bollywood producer to pen into a book.
With a bizarre title "F?@k Knows", the book Singh says has suggestions for youth on "how to live life based on their wits and listen to their 'hearts' at times to execute their decisions."
The title of the book was chosen by Shailendra himself since he feels that this is the way the urban youth of today has replaced their expression of 'do not know'.
"I never thought that the title would be controversial though, since most kids in urban India, use the word, unless you want it to sound controversial, it won't be I find it perfectly fine" says Singh.
He begins the book with a few confessions on what prompted him to write the book, his heart attack and a financial loss led him to introspect.
He says "As a child I was brought up in a small town called Muzzaffarnagar, where I remember my elders dictating my life about what I have to do and this has brought me to where I am, I felt enough is enough at a point in my life".
"My dream was to express myself and I am fortunate to do so, I feel there needs to be a certain level of optimism in the country, and I have a lot of it which I wanted to share through this book" says the author.
"All of us are educated about life with a fear psychosis in it, like if you don't study you will fail and you have to become something in life, here I suggest be smart, and determine yourself what you should do to consider yourself successful" says the 47-year-old author.
