West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today rebuked some of her ministers in the administrative meeting here and asked them to improve the performances of their department in future.
Banerjee today held an administrative review meeting of all the departments of the state government.
"In the meeting the Chief minister asked minister of technical education Asima Patra, minister of women and child development Sashi Panja to improve their performances. She also told asked minister of consumer affairs Sadhan Pande, whether the advertisements throughout the city is serving any purpose at all," a senior TMC leader said.
"Pande was asked by Banerjee to state what are concrete steps that his department has taken,"he said.
Banerjee had also asked some of the departments that if they are not able to spend the allotted money then they should return the money.
The TMC leader also said that Banerjee had asked Kolkata Mayor and housing minister Sovan Chatterjee to look into the construction of "Kolkata Eye" on the lines of London eye.
Banerjee also asked state finance and excise minister Amit Mitra to check the sale of spurious liquor in the state.
Banerjee lauded the performance the state Panchayat department and irrigation department.
