A 12-member Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has been formed for selection of students to various courses in government-run and privately managed self financing professional colleges in the Union Territory for 2014-15 academic year.
Lt Governor Virendra Kataria issued an order in this regard. The committee headed by the Education Secretary would select students for courses including engineering, medical, dental and veterinary and animal sciences offered by the government run colleges.
Seats under government quota are also available in other self-financing privately managed colleges to the extent of not more than 50 per cent of the sanctioned intake in various professional courses within the Union Territory, a gazette notification said.
The CENTAC will also carry out admission of candidates under seats nominated by the Union HRD Ministry for the various professional courses in government run colleges.
Eligibility criteria and procedures for admission of candidates to first year in professional courses will be notified separately, the order said.
