Interacting with the 2014 batch IAS officers (Jharkhand cadre) here, he, along with Union Ministers Jayant Sinha and Sudarshan Bhagat, also stressed on the need to bridge the gap between plans worked out in the secretariats and its implementation on the field.
"While making tough decisions, smart officials take all the stakeholders, public representatives or important persons from the area, where people will be affected due to certain work, into confidence," the Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) said.
He was replying to a query on how to handle tough situations as an administrator, particularly in rehabilitation/resettlement of people while implementing any project of public interest.
Noting that the pace of communication has increased these days, he said there has been a "huge change" the way governments function now and asked the young officials to work in accordance with it.
