Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has asked his Cabinet ministers to bring more transparency in departmental functioning and adopt 'zero tolerance' against corruption.
"In a letter to the cabinet ministers, CM Raman Singh has extended wishes to them for the New Year and directed to bring more transparency in the functioning of each government department," an official here said.
Stringent action should be taken against corruption in all departments and 'zero tolerance' will be top priority of his government, the official said quoting the letter.
Singh has also asked the ministers to encourage officers and employees in their respective departments in a bid to ensure a corruption-free administration and take effective steps for its adherence, the official said.
In his message, the Chief Minister said the ruling government had introduced several rules and laws including Lokseva Guarantee Act, 'Satyanistha Sandhi' to put a check on corruption thereby bringing government and administrative functionary closer to the people.
To ensure benefit to the people, it is necessary to drive the government's message among masses, he said.
The government and public should jointly make efforts to create conducive atmosphere to remove corruption.
In the letter, the CM pointed that the government would try to implement proposed schemes at the earliest, the official added.
