Advocate arrested for raping woman colleague

A 65-year-old city-based advocate has been arrested for allegedly raping his 39-year-old subordinate at his office here, police said today.
The lawyer--Arun Jalisatgi--was arrested last night by the Naupada police here.
According to senior PI, C J Jadhav, the advocate was booked on Sunday under sections 354 (A,B,C), 376 (C), 108 and 506 of the IPC based on the complaint made by the victim, who was practising law with him.
As per the police complaint, the accused had in December 2016, first at the Powai lake and later at his Naupada office, made an attempt to molest the victim.
Later, he raped her twice at his office in January and February this year. The woman was threatened of dire consequences if she revealed about the abuse to anyone.

Then last month (May), the accused threatened to make her semi-nude pictures viral on social media and also kill her, the complaint stated.
Naupada police is further probing the case.
