Police inspector M B Thorve of the Naupada police station quoted a complaint registered with the Naupada police station here under Section 420, Section 363, Section 170, Section 504 as well as Section 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and said that no arrest had been made and a hunt is on for the accused.
The complainant, namely advocate Kalidas Bhat told the police that on December 15, 2013, one the accused identified as Gajanan M Taddikar posed as a policeman from the Thane police crime branch.
Allegedly, Taddikar collected the token money of Rs 5 lakh from Yenpure and never paid it to the complainant.
Later, four people including Taddikar, Yenpure, Nitin and another person came to Kalidas Bhat's residence and picked him up.
They took him to Khopat and demanded Rs 5 lakh which they claimed to have paid him as well as warned him that they would get him killed if he did not comply.
They abandoned him in Khopat after recording his voice after forcibly making him state that he would return Rs 10 lakh to them, the complaint stated.
