The lawyers termed the strike as "completely successful" and said it's a serious issue if lawyers and litigants are not safe even inside the court complex.
Advocate Sanjeev Nasiar, President of Tis Hazari Courts Bar Association, said no work was done in the entire court complex, including notary and photocopy work, and no lawyer appeared in any case.
"It is a serious issue. The policemen who are responsible for the security of others are taking law in their hands and committing an offence. It's such a heinous crime.
He said the lawyers of the Delhi High Court and all the six district courts will also abstain from work on March 16 as per the national strike call given by the Bar Council of India and all the members have been informed about it.

Lawyers, however, will allow urgent work to be done in the courts.
30-year-old advocate Nabi Ahmed was shot dead allegedly by sub-inspector Shailendra Singh in broad daylight inside the district court premises in Allahabad on March 11.
Siddiqui alleged that his son and the sub-inspector knew each other for some time and they had a dispute over a case registered by Nabi a few months ago, according to the FIR.
Singh had allegedly pulled out his revolver and fired at Nabi, Siddiqui said in the FIR.
While the sub-inspector fled, the advocate succumbed to injuries within a few minutes, the FIR said.
