Advocates abstain from court

Members of the Kumbakonam Bar Association abstained from the court proceedings for two days from today to condemn the denial of entry to a Madras High Court Judge into a club in Chennai for wearing dhoti.
About 450 advocates, including women lawyers, abstained from their work to protest the incident, R Sankar, President of the bar association said.
A decision in this regard was taken in its extra ordinary General Body meeting held here.
