The Madras High Court Advocates Association, which decided to abstain from court proceedings today over alleged refusal of the Chief Justice to meet their office-bearers who went to submit a resolution to him, took out a march inside the campus shouting slogans against the Chief Justice.
Some advocates barged inside the First Bench Court hall where a mention was being made by senior advocate P Wilson on the ongoing election process in Srirangam assembly constituency.
The senior advocate pressed the First Bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M.M. Sundresh, to take up the petition filed by DMK alleging that gift articles and money was being distributed by ruling AIADMK in the constituency.
As the arguments were being presented, the advocates dashed in shouting slogans against the Chief Justice. They also asked the senior advocate to come out of the court.
Additional Solicitor General G.Rajagopal raised his voice against the agitating advocates. The Chief Justice did not respond and retired to his chambers.
The advocates went around the court campus and shouted slogans against the Chief Justice.
