Mohammad Yaqoub Hotak, Director in Afghanistan Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, who is heading a three-member team on tour to Haryana Agriculture University (HAU), said the aim of the visit was to know the experiences of Afghan students studying in Indian agri universities.
The delegation will also look into the problems of Afghan students, he said here today.
During a meeting with HAU Vice-Chancellor K S Khokhar, Hotak said Afghan government plans to establish the universities for agricultural development in the country.
Hotak said the objective behind sending Afghan students for higher studies in other countries was to build capacity for teaching and research in agri sector in Afghanistan.
Expressing gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for the role being played by HAU by way of providing education to Afghan students, Hotak appreciated the varsity for maintaining high teaching and research standards.
Speaking on the occasion, Khokhar offered to provide consultancy for setting up new agriculture colleges and universities in Afghanistan.
