An Afghan official says a roadside bomb has killed 11 civilians and wounded three in the northern province of Baghlan.
Jaweed Basharat, spokesman for the provincial police chief, says the explosion took place in the Baghlan Jadid district today evening, when a van with the civilians hit the roadside bomb.
Basharat says there were five children and two women among those killed in the blast. All the victims were from one family.
They were travelling home to their village of Qaisar Khil when their van struck the bomb. He blamed the Taliban for the attack.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility from any group.
