The accused -- identified as Sajid alias Zamil -- was arrested along with his accomplice Nand Kishor alias Deepak (34) by the staff of Ambedkar Nagar Police Station.
Police claimed to have solved 12 such cases with the arrest of the duo.
The accused were arrested from Jamia Hamdard University while Zamil was roaming in the campus area impersonating as a doctor.
The police staff immediately reached the spot upon receiving information and apprehended the accused, who was wearing an overcoat.

He is an Afghani Refugee and knew many languages including Hindi, English, Persian, Pasto and Urdu. He committed thefts in educational institutions and hospitals by posing himself as a doctor or student, he added.
His targets were electronic gadgets like laptops and I-pads and used to sell the stolen articles to a shopkeeper at Nehru Place, he said.
The other accused, Nand Kishor, who sold the stolen valuables was apprehended from the shop. Many other items have been seized from their possession, he said.
