Jawad Basharat, the spokesman for Baghlan province's police chief, said the today's blast occurred just outside the mosque. He said it wasn't clear who carried out the attack. Baghlan is in Afghanistan's north, which is generally less violent than the south and east.
Elsewhere, Din Mohammad Darwish, the spokesman for the governor of Logar province, said four police were killed during a battle with Taliban insurgents yesterday.
The attacks come as the country continues to wait for the results of the presidential run-off held in June. The two candidates are trying to agree on a power-sharing deal. Final vote results have not yet been announced.
