Afghanistan delegation visits PAU

A 12-member delegation from Afghanistan visited the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) here today and discussed issues related to seed production.
Welcoming the delegation, Vice Chancellor B S Dhillon highlighted the contribution of PAU to Indian agriculture.
Director of Research Ashok Kumar gave an overview of various areas of research, a university spokesman said here.
The delegates visited the Crop Museum of Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics. They interacted with scientists of various crop sections along with Head, Department of Vegetable Science and Director, Seeds.
They were also told about the Indian Seeds Act, seed production methodologies and standards.
The tour culminated with a visit to the University Seed Farm and seed grading and packing unit at Ladhowal.
