Amidst the growing popularity of Indian art and culture internationally, the government of Niger, a West African country, has issued two special stamps on Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi during the current festive season.
Available for Indian market from today, the stamps are available in a limited edition of 1500 pieces only, said philatelist Alok K Goyal who is also the sole authorised dealer of these stamps in India.
He said the first stamp is in a hexagonal shape placed on a miniature sheet in the shape of Ganesha with partially gold foiling.
The second one has a pair of round stamps of Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth, and Lord Ganesha with a red Swarovski on each of them, on a souvenir sheet in the shape of open lotus flower.
Being sold by Goyal who runs the online stamp shop www.Stamps-n-stamps.Com, the stamps are of the face value of 3300 CFA Franc and are being sold in India at Rs 1001.
