South Korea is the country in focus for the 47th edition and country's "The Age of Shadows" directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kim Jee-Woon will bring the curtains down on the festival, which runs from November 20 to 28. The film is also Korea's official entry for the Academy Awards this year.
Renowned Korean filmmaker Kwon Taek Im, best known for his films such as "Wife", "The Family Pedigree", "Evergreen" and Chunhyang", "Ghiwaseon" and "Low Life", will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival.
A total of 1032 entries from across the globe were received for IFFI 2016 out of which 194 films from 88 countries were selected.
IFFI will recognize young talent under a new competition section, Centenary award for best debut feature of a director. The section will showcase some of the outstanding directorial debuts of 2016 from across the globe.

The winner will be honoured with a Silver Peacock and a cash price of Rs 10,00,000.
In collaboration with the International Council for Film and Television, Audiovisual Communication (ICFT) Paris and UNESCO, IFFI 2016 will also present the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal to a film reflecting the ideals of peace, tolerance and non-violence.
15 films from across the globe, which will include two Indian films from Indian Panaroma section, will be part of the competition.
The international jury for IFFI 2016 has acclaimed writer-director Ivan Passer as the chairperson. Larry Smith, Lordan Zafranovic, Nagesh Kukunoor, Leilda Kilani are also part of the jury.
IFFI 2016, the festival line-up included 26 Asian and 108 Indian Premieres in the International Cinema sections.
The festival will also showcase four world premieres and six international premieres which will be part of the ten Gala screenings.
The festival is paying tribute to Wajda and Abbas Kiarostami by screening five and seven movies of the master directors.
A special homage is being paid to actor-singer Kalabhan Mani, actress Kalpana, Sadhana Shivdasani and. Paramesh Krishnan Nair.
