After the show of strength by former BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya, a "grand rally" will be organised by another rebel leader R K Chaudhary on July 26 marking Chattrapari Shahuji Maharaj birth anniversary.
"A grand rally will be organised at Maharaj Bijli Pasi Qila here under the aegis of Bahujan Samaj Swabhiman Sangharsh Samiti (BS-4)," Chaudhary announced at a press conference here today.
The rally will be held close on the heels of a meeting convened on July 1 by Maurya, where 25 to 30 former MLAs, MPs and ministers who had either quit or been expelled by BSP, were present.
Maurya, who hinted at floating a new political outfit after he quit BSP charging Mayawati with auctioning tickets for 2017-Assembly elections, has claimed support of over 10 sitting BSP MLAs "who were in touch with him and will come out in the open at an opportune time".
Chaudhary, who quit within days of Maurya parting ways with Mayawati, today renewed his attack on the BSP supremo alleging that she has converted the organisation into "her private real estate company".
The campaign for social change started by Kanshi Ram has lost its steam under the leadership of Mayawati, he said.
"Party workers are demoralised as to what would happen with the party and Kanshi Ram's mission. God knows who is giving such suggestions to Mayawati," he said.
Chaudhary alleged that instead of dedicated workers, importance was being given to capitalists ignoring Kanshi Ram's ideology.
To a question, the once close confidant of Mayawati, said he had met Maurya, to work out a strategy which he declined to divulge.
Maurya belongs to other backward caste (OBC) while Chaudhary is a Dalit, the two important votebanks of BSP, which suffered a fresh jolt over the weekend when former MLA and Brahmin leader Ravindra Nath Tripathi quit, alleging that Mayawati has been "blinded by greed for money".
Tripathi alleged Mayawati has deviated from the mission of B R Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram and that BSP has become "a party of mafia, goons and capitalists" where internal democracy has ceased to exist.
