After MDMK, PMK now says "no" to DMK

A day after MDMK general secretary Vaiko said he did not intend forging an alliance with DMK, PMK chief Ramadoss today said his party would not align with either AIADMK or DMK for the 2016 Assembly polls.
"A coalition of political parties will be formed or the 2016 State Assembly elections headed by PMK sans AIADMK and the DMK," he told reporters here, adding he had invited DMK president Karunanidhi for the wedding of his grand daughter Samyuktha only out of political decency.
Yesterday, MDMK chief Vaiko had said at Kangeyam in Tiurpur District that the "media read too much" into his meeting with DMK treasurer Stalin at the wedding reception of the PMK chief's grand daughter.

"As of now I do not intend forging an alliance with the DMK. However the media read too much into it. It is, however, their freedom in a democracy," Vaiko had said.
On October 29, MDMK chief Vaiko and DMK top leader Stalin met at the wedding reception of PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss's daughter Samyuktha.
DMK chief Karunanidhi also attended the wedding and praised PMK chief Ramadoss who reciprocated the spirit by saying that he had learnt several things like time and party management from Karunanidhi.
The meetings of rival leaders assumed political significance as they met just days after Stalin had strongly hinted at a broad alliance to unseat the ruling AIADMK.

Also, DMK chief Karunanidhi, when asked by reporters if the meeting could be taken as a "beginning of a new alliance" said, "he would be happy if it were to be a beginning," for a broader alliance for the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
