Seeking to clarify, he said he has lived his life taking inspiration from the ideals of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya.
"Personally, I honour Brahmin community and its religious leaders. Some people are trying to spread religious disharmony but they will not succeed in their attempts," the school education minister said in a statement.
He further said he has always tried to give special representation to Brahmins in school curriculum in Rajasthan and has given priority to individuals who have given a new direction to the society.
A writ petition was moved in the Rajasthan High Court following which it sought a reply on the matter in four weeks.

Reacting to the court notice, Devnani on April 8 had commented that Brahmins too use 'Pandit' title before their names.
His comments had earned the wrath of the community and led to statewide protest.
On April 15, a police complaint was filed against Devnani for hurting religious sentiments.
However, no FIR was lodged.
