Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Arjun Ram Meghwal frowned upon the tendency of judges to make "running commentary" during case hearings which finally become "law of the land".
He underlined that the makers of the Constitution have ensured separation of powers among the various organs and law-making is the job of Parliament.
He did not specify but he was apparently referring to the stinging comments by the Uttarakhand High Court against the President while hearing a petition against imposition of central rule on the state recently. The High Court had said that even the President can "err".
At one point, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was trying to say something to which Meghwal said he should be heard as he is not resorting to politics.
The UPA II had brought a bill -- The Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill -- which sought to check verbal remarks against any Constitutional body. The bill went to the Union Cabinet repeatedly for changes but finally lapsed following the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha.
