Agencies sound alert about possible infiltration along borders

Security agencies have sounded an alert about possible infiltration bid by militants from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir with the active support of ISI and Pakistan Army.
The alert was issued after two successive terrorist strikes in Jammu region on Friday and Saturday last when the attackers entered into the state after crossing the International Borders.
According to the intelligence inputs, there would be more infiltration attempts from across the border and all such attempts are being supported by the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Pakistan Army, official sources said.
Some of the alerts are very specific like detailed information about the possible sites of infiltration bids.
An alert has been sounded along the entire border and security forces are in high vigil, sources said.
In the past two months, Pakistan-based terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have made many attempts to infiltrate into the country and a few of them have been successful, sources said.

According to Home Ministry statistics, there have been more than 175 infiltration attempts in Jammu and Kashmir last year. Around 560 incidents of ceasefire violation also have taken place along the Line of Control and the International Border in 2014.
In 2013, there were 354 cases of infiltration along the Indo-Pakistan border in which 56 militants were killed and 145 arrested. There were 332 incidents of infiltration from across Pakistan in 2012 in which 30 were killed and 123 were apprehended.
In 2011, there were 317 incidents of infiltration in which 50 militants were killed and 86 arrested.
