A division bench of justices A S Oka and R I Chagla directed the MCGM to file a reply, giving details of action taken on Sorabjee's complaint.
If no action has been taken, the officials concerned must explain the reasons, said the judges.
Sorabjee's lawyer Nikhil Sakhardande said a 32-storey high-rise is coming up on a plot adjacent to the senior lawyer's bungalow on Napean Sea Road in south Mumbai.
