Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said Partner Kerala Mission, an initiative for public private partnership in Urban local governments, would speed up development projects.
The Mission was more benefited to those local bodies that faced difficulty in implementing various developmental projects due to financial constrains and technical problems, Chandy said while speaking after inaugurating the agreement signing function between Partner Kerala Mission and Civic Bodies.
Partner Kerala Mission aims to provide support to corporations to carry out activities that involve public- private partnership.
The unused land with local administrations would be utilised for various activities that are beneficial for the masses through PPP route, he said.
"Though private firms finance these projects, the land will be under the control of civic bodies', he said.
Nearly 40 projects of Urban bodies would be considered in the first phase of the project, he said.
