This follows release of a study by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) which says that 84 per cent of 38 bread brands commonly sold in Delhi were found to contain hazardous chemicals.
"We collected 18 samples of bread which have been sent to our laboratory to check if they contain cancer-causing chemicals," said the additional medical officer of AMC Bhavin Joshi.
More samples will be collected from shops in the city and tested, he added.
After the report was released, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said he had directed the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to submit a report in this regard.
