The special court set up for the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts case today resumed the trial under the new judge, P C Rawal.
Special public prosecutors H M Dhruv and Amit Patel presented the material evidence before the court today.
It includeed gas cylinders, metal pieces, sharp objects, nuts and bolts and other articles found at the city civil hospital, one of the blast targets.
The panchas (witnesses), in whose presence the material was recovered by the police, today identified it as being the same.
Shahibaug police station had collected this evidence from the blast site.
21 blasts had rocked the city on July 26, 2008, killing 56 people. More than 70 persons, accused in the case, are currently lodged in the Sabarmati central jail here. The court has so far examined 349 witnesses.
P B Desai, the earlier judge, sought transfer after some of the accused objected that he was related to the prosecutor Dhruv. Subsequently, the High Court appointed Rawal in his place.
The hearing will continue tomorrow.
