Buoyed by the occupancy rate of its Delhi-Copenhagen flight, Air India today announced increasing the frequency on this route to four days a week, even as it planned new services from Mumbai to Germany soon.

The airline took to Twitter to announce increasing the frequency of the tri-weekly Delhi and Copenhagen flight, launched in September last year to four days a week from May 11.

"Happy to announce Air India to increase frequency on Delhi Copenhagen sector four times a week effective 11th May 2018," it tweeted.

Air traffic between India and Denmark has seen a robust growth of over 10 per cent and the number of visas issued rose by about 20 per cent during the last couple of years.

Sources said the frequency of services from Delhi to Austria's capital Vienna would be announced soon.

The disinvestment-bound national carrier is also looking at starting new services from Mumbai to some European cities, the details of which is being finalised.

One of the new service could connect the country's financial capital to a German city, the sources hinted.

Among European cities, Air India flies directly to destinations including Stockholm, Madrid, Vienna, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Rome, Birmingham and Milan.
