Ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu today announced its election teams comprising senior Ministers, including O Panneerselvam, to work in four Assembly segments in the state and Puducherry where elections are scheduled on November 19.
Besides Finance Minister Panneerselvam, the party named his colleagues Edappady K Palaniswamy and P Thangamani besides Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs A Anwar Raja and R Vaithinlingam among others to carry on election related work in Thanjavur, Aravakurichi and Thiruparankundram in Tamil Nadu.
Law Minister CVe Shanmugam among others had been named as in-charge for taking up election related work in Nellithope by-poll in Puthucherry, where Chief Minister V Narayanasamy is seeking elections, an AIADMK release said.
AIADMK, whose supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment in a hospital here since September 22 last, has already announced its candidates for all the four constituencies.
Assembly polls to Thanjavur and Aravakurichi were rescinded in May last by the Election Commission following complaints of irregularities including money distribution.
The EC has recently announced that polls to the two seats, as well as the Thirupparankundram by-election will be held on November 19.
While by-poll to Thiruparankundram is being held following the death of sitting AIADMK MLA SM Seenivel, Nellithope goes to polls following the resignation of Congress MLA John Kumar to enable Narayanasamy, a non-member of the assembly, to become an MLA as per requirement.
