AIADMK MLA stopped from attacking Karunanidhi in Assembly

Tamil Nadu Assembly today witnessed a rare instance of a ruling AIADMK member being stopped by a Minister from making allegations against party's arch-rival DMK chief M Karunanidhi, on the ground that charges should not be made during the Question Hour.
The gesture by Municipal Administration and Water Supply Minister K P Munusamy counselling his party colleague was greeted by mild thumping of desks by the DMK members.
It all started when AIADMK member K Kuppan representing Thiruvottiyur alleged that Karunanidhi had "given away" Katchatheevu islet -- a bone of contention between Indian and Sri Lankan fishermen -- to Sri Lanka

His remarks sparked objections from DMK members, who got on their feet and demanded that his allegations were wrong, baseless and asked the Speaker to expunge Kuppan's remarks.
While Kuppan tried to continue with his allegation, Munusamy rose from his seat and requested the Speaker not to allow his party MLA to make allegations during the Question Hour, saying it has not been the Assembly's tradition to make allegations during the Question Hour.
DMK members had walked out of the House on several occasions and even been evicted during the current session when they staged noisy protests against critical remarks targeting Karunanidhi or the party.
