AICTE should introduce new subjects:Chandy

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) should focus on introducing new technical subjects as per the demand of students, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here today.
Chandy was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new office of AICTE for Kerala and Lakshadweep in the Government Engineering College here. Union Minister for HRD Shashi Tharoor presided over the function.
The new generation needs more educational facilities and opportunities in the field of IT, science and heavy industry, Chandy pointed out.
He also expressed hoped that the work of AICTE centre would be completed in 18 months.
