AIMIM district chief arrested in connection with a riot case

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad ul-Muslimeen's (MIM) district chief was arrested in connection with a case of rioting by the Jinsi police here on Thursday noon and later release on bail, police sources said.
Police inspector Shivaji Kamble of the Jinsi police station said that two days ago, two groups of the AIMIM had clashed in the Sanjay Nagar locality.
Meanwhile, dissidence in the AIMIM seems to have reached its peak, with three incidences of violence reported in the city during the last two days.
On Thursday afternoon, two groups scuffled when a few youth waved black flags at AIMIM MP and party chief during his rally in the Baijipura area.
Addressing a raly here on Thursday evening, barrister Asaduddin Owaisi declared that his party would give a chance to members of the Dalit community to contest for mayor's post as well as head the standing committee.
A former Congress city chief G S A Ansari and a few Dalit leaders also joined the party.
