Talking to reporters here CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy said Rangasamy was only adopting resolutions urging the Centre to grant statehood and did not take any follow up action.
"Rangasamy has failed in taking any follow up initiatives to persuade the Centre to grant statehood for Puducherry", he said.
He alleged that the Narendra Modi headed NDA government had made several promises and nothing had been implemented.
Modi had promised that black money stashed abroad would be brought back and price rise would be controlled. But nothing had been done to deliver on these promises, Reddy said.
CPI, a constituent of the PWF, is contesting seven seats in Puducherry. Other constituents of the Front are CPI(M), DMDK, MDMK, VCK and RSP.
