Air Force Selection Board to be inaugurated tomorrow

An Air Force Selection Board will be inaugurated at Kanchrapara air base tomorrow by Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha.
The Chief of the Air Staff will inaugurate No 5 Air Force Selection Board in North 24 Parganas district and would be briefed on operationalisation of various facilities and selection processes, officials said.
He would visit selection areas and oversee facilities provided in the station and would also interact with the Air Warriors, before departing for the city, they said.
The new selection board would facilitate aspiring young men and women of eastern region to join Indian Air Force in the officer cadre.
Air Force Station Kanchrapara was established on September 1, 1942 and the base was used during World War-II and was home to several P-51 Mustang, B-25 Mitchell and P-38 Lightning Aircrafts.
The base has undergone infrastructural development and all facilities required for selection of candidates have been established, officials said.
