To make it convenient for advertisers to reach it and address their problems, All India Radio (AIR) is launching a toll free number - 15102 - for them on Independence Day.
"This is a first-of-its-kind initiative taken by India's public service broadcaster in a bid to provide one-stop window for those looking for an easy way to advertise with Akashvani's various kendras," a statement released here said.
It added that the toll free number will connect the kendras of AIR and it will become faster to answer and tackle the problems encountered by advertisers.
The number will also provide an avenue for those who want to expand their business but have a limited budget to publicise and indulge in other promotional activities.
"As we are essentially working for the betterment of the country and public at large, so our charges are basic and coverage is the best. An advertiser will certainly be better off with this toll free number," an official said.
