: Air Vice Marshal SK Jha has assumed command of the College of Air Warfare at Secunderabad here.
Jha, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla and Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, assumed command of the College of Air Warfare Secunderabad, on November 12, a defence release said here Thursday.
Commissioned as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force on June 8, 1984, Jha has 2,900 hours of flying experience on a number of fighter aircraft.
The officer served as Defence Attach in Nigeria from 2008-2011.
His command assignments include that of a Mirage 2000 Squadron and a frontline fighter base.
A Fighter Combat Leader, an Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner, Jha has served as senior instructor at his alma mater, DSSC and has held numerous prestigious appointments in his career including those at Directorate of Air Staff Inspection, Air Headquarters and at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, New Delhi.
Prior to his appointment as Commandant of College of Air Warfare, he was the Air Officer Commanding at Advance Headquarters (Chandimandir), Headquarters Western Air Command, New Delhi, the release added.
