AirAsia India, which began operations in June 2014, is a three-way joint venture between AirAsia Berhard, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia's Telestra Tradeplace.
The no-frills airline carried 4,16,182 passengers in the three months ended September, higher than 1,28,089 people flown during the year-ago period, according to latest operational statistics report released by AirAsia Berhard today.
In the latest September quarter, AirAsia India had a load factor of 76 per cent, marginally higher than 75 per cent seen in the year-ago period.
"AirAsia India's total fleet at the end of the quarter under review stood at five aircraft, Year-on-Year increase of three aircraft. Frequency was added on one existing route: Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam," the report said.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Berhard group carried 12.88 million passengers in the latest September quarter. "At the end of the quarter under review, the group's total fleet size stood at 168 A-320 aircraft," it added.
Besides AirAsia India, the group comprises operations in Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.
