All-India Railwaymen's Federation has called for a country-wide protest tomorrow against the alleged "anti-labour" attitude of railways.
"We will organise 'All-India Protest Day' tomorrow in front of zonal headquarters, workshop, production units and stations across the country," said AIRF General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra.
He said railways was yet to address the genuine pending demands of the railwaymen despite being given adequate time.
The major demands include scrapping New Pension Scheme, filling up of lakhs of vacancies, removal of the ceiling limit of Rs 3,500 for calculation of the Productivity Linked Bonus.
Mishra further said that there was a great resentment amongst the railway workers on the account of the unattended charter of demands in general and FDI and PPP in particular.
"The FDI, will definitely not be beneficial to the Indian Railway system and the government's decision was aimed to divide the activities of railways into two different mode of functioning and hand it over to multi-national companies through the disinvestment and privatisation," he said.
