The corridor will be re-opened to public once CMRS R K Kardam gives his nod after conducting a thorough inspection of the 23-km line that connects the city with its international airport.
At a meeting here today, DMRC officials informed Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna that they would probably be sending a letter to Kardam asking him to give a suitable date for inspecting the corridor.
Since the corridor has undergone repairs at various levels, an inspection and safety nod by CMRS is mandatory. Trains on this line run at a speed of 105 km/hour.
The Line was temporarily shut on July 8 after the Reliance Infrastructure-led consortium found some defects on the civil structure and brought them to the notice of the Delhi Metro.
Since then, repair work on the corridor has been on and they were completed a month ago. Trial runs have also been successful, sources told PTI.
Ever since the operations were shut down, Delhi Metro and Reliance Infra have been at loggerheads on several issues which culminated with the consortium sending a notice to terminate the agreement.
Delhi Metro, however, rejected the offer and asked it operate the Line and referred pending issues for arbitration.
