The first batch of trainees from OAMC, which reached India recently, has commenced its two-week training, GMR group said in a release.
GMR Airport Developer Ltd (GADL), a subsidiary of the Bengaluru-based GMR Infrastructure Ltd, had in June signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OAMC to provide services ranging from programme management, testing and commissioning of airport systems to development of aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams to the Oman Airport staff.
A 22-member team from OAMC is presently undergoing a specially-designed course on airfield rescue and firefighting at GMRAA, Hyderabad, which will be followed by another training session at the company academy in Delhi, it said. After completion of the course, the batch would return to Oman, it added.
"This training will help OAMC teams to learn and adopt some of the best practices of GMR's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad," a GADL spokesperson said.
