"Airtel 4G will enable customers to enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images. Customer will be able to access 4G across a range of devices including mobile phones, 4G MiFi and dongles," Airtel said in a statement.
The operator will offer complimentary upgrade to 4G SIM to its existing customers to enable them use 4G services on their existing 3G plans.
"Airtel 4G in Gujarat has been rolled out using spectrum band of 1,800 MHz (FD LTE) which ensures higher spectrum efficiency and increased upload and download speeds, which translates into a superior customer experience," it said.
With Rs 249 recharge, 1 GB data will be credited to the customer's account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed by customers by sending an SMS to 52141.
Airtel will offer plans starting from Rs 1,199 with 4G data along with unlimited voice calls for STD, local and on roaming for its postpaid customers in Gujarat.
Airtel had launched India's first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012. With today's launch, Airtel 4G is now available in 17 circles across India.
