The assurance was given by Singh to Pramod Hindurao, Chairman of CIDCO, the nodal agency for the development of Navi Mumbai international airport.
Hindurao met Singh today during the latter's visit to Mumbai and briefed him about the status of the airport project.
Singh assured the CIDCO Chairman that a technical committee would be constituted soon to sort out the issues related to the long-pending project, officials said.
Talking to PTI, Hindurao said he requested the Minister to expedite the work on the airport and the latter assured to personally push for its early implementation.
The CIDCO Chairman informed Singh that 75 per cent of the land required for the airport is in possession of the state government-run planning agency.
The Environment Ministry has cleared the project, which is proposed to be developed through public-private participation in which CIDCO/AAI will hold 26 per cent equity and rest will by held by private developer to be raised through public bidding.
